The story
From a port town in Krishna District to Hyderabad's sweet table
Born in Bandaru — the historic port town of Machilipatnam in Krishna district, Andhra Pradesh, renowned across India for its iconic Bandar Laddu and Madatha Kaja — Sri Dora Raju garu grew up surrounded by a centuries-old culture of pure-ghee sweet-making.
The son of two schoolteacher parents, he entered the sweet business with no family precedent in trade. What he carried instead was discipline absorbed from a teaching home and an unspoken inheritance of his hometown's confectionery legacy.
In 2002, he founded Olive Mithai Vatika in Hyderabad — translating Machilipatnam's age-old sweet tradition into a modern, hygienic retail experience for a new generation. From a single shop, the brand has grown into 15+ outlets across the city, with door-step delivery to 19 localities.
Today, Olive Mithai is celebrated for its uncompromising pure-ghee promise, long-tenured master cooks, and 'Pearl-pure ambience' — a standard that earns the trust of families, weddings, and corporate clients across Hyderabad.
